As we begin 2024, we’re reflecting on all our successes and continued growth in 2023. As our twenty-eighth year in business, the past year was a busy time for Homestead Funding. We’re incredibly grateful to our Loan Originators, employees, borrowers, and business partners who have contributed to our ability to adapt within an ever-changing and competitive industry.
We are constantly expanding our loan program portfolio to continue to create more homeownership possibilities and market advantage for qualified borrowers. Along with expanding our renovation loans to include USDA renovations, we also announced our Community Lending Program this past June. The Community Lending Program aims to correct mortgage lending inequality in underserved populations or locations. Our commitment to community reaches far beyond home financing. Our employees have always volunteered their time and resources to our communities and this year was no different! This year, we created the Helping Hands Committee, an employee group dedicated to the planning and execution of community outreach efforts, charitable events, and social activities for Homestead’s employees.

Additionally, staff completed a food drive for CAPTAIN Community Human Services, a toy drive for Toys for Tots, collected money for the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, and donated clothing, toys, and necessities for nine families through Adopt a Family and Haven of Hope.
In 2023, we opened 4 new branches and onboarded more than 10 Licensed Loan Originators for various branches. By increasing our servicing area, we continue to provide extraordinary assistance and mortgage financing solutions to a wider scope of qualified borrowers.
Dave Stagnitti, CMB, became our Vice President of Retail Sales in the fall. In less than six months, Dave has been an asset for our team development and brand visibility. We are excited to see what new things we can achieve with his diverse experience in his role!
At year’s end, Linda Mallia also joined our sales team as the new Western New York Area Manager. In addition to overseeing branches, she has been instrumental in increasing our brand visibility in Rochester and Buffalo, New York neighborhoods.
Our Loan Originators were just excited about the return of our Sales Summit as we were! This all-day event included discussions with some of the industry’s top experts, the announcement of new loan programs, and a chance for our Loan Originators to network with one another to strategize how to maintain our top-notch customer service.
