How Homestead Funding’s Helping Hands Are Making a Difference in Spring and Summer 2026

Estimated reading time: 2.5 minutes

The arrival of spring and warmer days in Albany, New York signals an exciting time of year for Homestead Funding—a season of Helping Hands in action.

Helping Hands is our employee volunteer group dedicated to putting people first, both inside and outside the office. Through donations, sponsorships, and hands-on involvement, we support community initiatives that make a meaningful difference for our families, friends, and neighbors.

This year, we’re especially excited about four major events in the Albany area that highlight and support the diverse needs of our community.

Blood Cancer United – Comedy Night for a Cause

Homestead Funding is proud to support a Comedy Night for a Cause at Mohawk Golf Club on Thursday, April 23. The evening will feature three comedians, with proceeds benefiting Blood Cancer United (previously the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society). Since 1949, the organization has invested more than $2 billion in research to advance treatment and care.

CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge

On Thursday, May 21, team members will take part in the CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge, a 3.5-mile road race through downtown Albany. Organized by the Hudson-Mohawk Road Runners Club in partnership with CDPHP, this event supports several local nonprofits, including the Road Runners Club, Crossroads Center for Children, and Catholic Charities Tri-County Services.

Capital Region Heart Walk & Run

The Capital Region Heart Walk & Run, happening on Sunday, June 7, brings the community together in support of the American Heart Association’s mission to fight heart disease and stroke. As a leading nonprofit in cardiovascular research and education, the organization has invested more than $6 billion in life-saving research.

Capital Pride 2026

Homestead Funding is proud to participate in Capital Pride on Sunday, June 14. Organized by the Pride Center of the Capital Region, the longest continuously operating LGBTQ community center in the United States, this celebration brings thousands together each year. Donations help fund vital programs, including community groups, advocacy efforts, professional development, and supportive services.
